The Mountains

Flowing through my hair, the wind, stroking my brunette locks, brushed it in gentle ruffles.

The wide open fields finished with a green polish that made the color glow.

In front of me, rising for miles, two huge mountains.

I sat and gazed at their serene beauty for a minute or two.

The blooming trees were all different colors: red, pink, green, and yellow.

The lilies perfumed the air with a pleasant aroma.

Lying down, I looked up at the sky only to find shades of blue, purple, and orange.

As the time passed, the moon illuminated the sky along with the sparkling stars.

I started to walk back, but first I turned to silently say goodbye,

and it was as if the wind waved its farewell back.

  1. "The lilies perfumed the air with a pleasant aroma" What a great sentence I've never thought about using the word perfumed in my writing before.
