They gathered at my feet
I was their salvation
Their glorious leader
All of their virtues
Mine
They think of me as merciful
But, alas
They are wrong
I would crush them
If not for my country's praise
I am all-knowing
All-seeing
I am not compassionate
Or righteous
They are meek, timid mice
Easy to control
Even easier to take out of the picture
Cool! I love the writing!
ReplyDeleteWhen I first saw the name, "salvation" I thought of someone nice, caring, and helpful. But no, I got a ruthless dictator that could crush all of them in one step.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Chris. I thought that the people that were coming was going to be nice. But no. They weren't.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was cool how the poem started nice and easy but by the end the mood totally shifted.
ReplyDeleteDang mate, that took a twist. A dark twist at that. Which is kinda cool, it could show another way people might look at their peeps.
ReplyDeleteIt is interesting to take this into your life and compare to people in it. A politician, a teacher, a parent. Who's similar to you?
