Her Eternal Beauty

Her breasts sagged low displaying the divots
of her sternum upon her papery skin. The minuscule,
knobby limbs splayed about her unhealthy frame.

Hair, thin, dry, and unkempt held form around her scalp
almost hiding her neck, which was turned at an awkward, broken,
angle. Dark carmine blood flowed
around her body, contrasting with her pale body
and absorbs into the baby blue dress that clung
to her torso and crotch. The somber atmosphere
enclosed her dying, malnourished, figure.

Vast, bleak, farms stretch to the horizon, seeming
to caress the setting sun.

Soulless eyes sunk in deeply and the apples of her cheeks protruded from her hollow face.

Her body contorted into a disgusting beauty as a grotesque
expression clouded her features while she choked
on the thick liquid collecting in her throat.

Like shiny glass,
her eyes blankly stare upwards at the charred
building she had once leapt from and tears
roll down her filthy face, painting clean streaks that crawled into her ears.

Though she was not sad.

The searing pain groping
about her body had turned into a numb ache.
The eerie echo of crows squawking at her sides flooded her ears.

And soon she fell into a never ending sleep as the birds mauled
the flesh off her gory carcass.

And forever now, the world would have her eternal beauty.
