The Usual

Jake woke up before his alarm went off. 

He checked the time, hoping that he would have more time to sleep. "6:55" he read, he let out a sigh. He got up anyway and got ready. He silently walked around the house trying not to wake his roommates up. He brushed his teeth, picked out his clothes for the day, and had a bagel for breakfast. As he took the last bite from his bagel, his phone went off. 

"Crap!" he thought as he panicked, "My alarm! I forgot!" 

He snatched his phone out of his pocket and silenced it. He stood still in the silence, listening for any sounds of movement from the other rooms. "Nothing" he said under his breath. As Jake grabbed his stuff and headed to the door, a voice called softly. "Jake? Is that you?" Jake looked behind him. 

It was Skye, the grey wolf, who had just gotten out of bed. "Yeah Sky, it's me. I'm just about to head off to work." Skye yawned, she walked towards Jake and hugged him. 

"Ok, I'll be sure to visit, maybe for lunch or breakfast" Jake hugged back, then looked at her. "If ya wanna come over for breakfast, now is a good time, most of the good stuff is gone really fast." Skye smiled and nodded, she headed to her room to get ready for the day.

Jake didn't have to wait too long, Skye was usually quick at getting dressed. He got up as Skye headed downstairs and to the door. Jake faced towards Skye,"Before we go, what would you like to eat when we get there?" Skye took a moment to decide. 

"The usual," she said as she walked out the door. 

Jake followed along, knowing what "the usual" meant, and closed the door behind him.
